Meet the Presenter

Matt Coughlin

Executive Director

Pensacola International Airport

Mr. Coughlin came to Pensacola International Airport after a 28-year career in the United States Navy as a Naval Aviator, Squadron Commander and a Base Commanding Officer. Over his Navy career, he served as an SH-60B pilot deploying numerous times in support of US Maritime Strategy. His shore duties spanned flight instructor duty, the Pentagon as a Global Nuclear Strike Advisor and two in residence graduate study programs.

He concluded his Naval career as the Commanding Officer of Naval Air Station Whiting Field from 2012 2015. Upon his retirement, he transitioned to the civilian airport industry, getting his start as an Operations Officer at Pensacola International Airport. Soon afterwards, he was promoted to Airport Assistant Director. In 2017, Mr. Coughlin was selected for the position of Assistant County Administrator in Escambia County, Florida. In 2019, he was fortunate to return Pensacola International Airport as Airport Deputy Director and was subsequently appointed as Director in June of 2020. He currently serves as the Airport’s Executive Director.
