Description: Brian Hooper was the chairman of Mayor Ashton Hayward’s Urban Redevelopment Advisory Committee. The committee’s goal was not to create another vision-oriented master plan, but rather to provide a menu of specific, concrete, actionable steps that could be enacted with minimal cost and maximum benefit. While the committee is now dissolved, the Final Report has already begun to spur a community-wide conversation about how best to move our downtown forward. Mr. Hooper will provide a synopsis of the Report’s 150+ recommendations and will discuss the vital importance of the orderly development of downtown.
