Former Justice Ken Bell is a shareholder of Gunster whose practice is focused on civil appeals and trial support. Ken currently co-chairs Gunster’s firmwide Appellate practice.
Ken is a former Florida Supreme Court Justice, serving from 2002-2008. Prior to serving on Florida’s highest court, Ken was as a circuit judge in Florida’s First Judicial Circuit from 1991-2002. In 1991, he became the youngest Circuit Judge in the history of the First Circuit. During his twelve years on the circuit court bench, Ken handled more than 27,500 cases as a general jurisdiction judge, and was actively involved in seeking to improve the judicial system. Preceding his elevation to the judiciary, Ken was Pensacola’s first board certified real estate attorney.

Jake counsels clients in their interactions with local, state, and federal governments on environmental, land use, and land development issues. He has been lead counsel on a variety of complex permitting and economic development matters. He excels in complicated matters requiring both environmental and land use permitting, including brownfield designations, urban redevelopment, and master-planned communities. He has extensive experience protecting environmental and land use permits against challenges, defending against government compliance and enforcement issues, and litigating property rights issues, including before the United States Supreme Court.

Ronald Weaver has extensive experience in advising landowners, development companies and occasionally local governments in environmental, land use and property rights law and real estate acquisition and financing. He has conducted land use, environmental, zoning, Developments of Regional Impact (DRI), comprehensive plan, and concurrency due diligence for the acquisition and development of over $6 billion worth of Florida property in 32 different counties and 62 cities, including a $600 million due diligence of 12 properties for one acquisition/financing, and a dozen others over $100 million throughout Florida.

NAIOP NWFL asks that all players and volunteers agree to self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 both 14 days prior to and following the event. While NAIOP NWFL and Scenic Hills are committed to providing a safe and distant outdoor event, we cannot guarantee that participants, volunteers, partners, or others in attendance will not become infected with COVID-19. As of now, we plan to host our event October 29th. However we will continue to monitor COIVD-19 and should we feel it is not safe to host our 16th Annual Golf Tournament, we will look into postponing. Should we cancel, all sponsors and participants will receive a full refund.
